If you don’t want your kids to be bouncing off the walls, but to still have a healthy, fun snack for their school lunch boxes.. then create these “bouncy balls” together for a delicious and fun snack and let your imagination go wild for the outer coating!
Recipe – Halva style balls
- 1 Cup raisins
- 1 cup dates
- ¼ cup tahini
- sesame seeds / cacao nibs / sunflower seeds / coconut etc.
Take the dates and cut them smaller so as not to strain your food processor too much and add this with the raisins into machine. Turn on and when starting to crumble pour in the tahini. When a ball is formed take it out and roll into smaller balls, which you can then roll into sesame seeds, or any other topping that takes your fancy. I rolled mine into liquorice root powder as I am a liquorice fan and this was an unusual yet delicious treat. Refrigerate for 2 hours and enjoy, in moderation.
